Gibson EB2D pickguard

Manufacturer: Gibson

Part Type: scratchplate

This is a very rare item indeed. It is a Gibson EB-2D scratchplate, from 1968. It is the Gibson logo and line/dot emblem. This was only fitted to certain instruments around 1968 (though perhaps a little earlier and later?) and finding them in any condition is rare. This one has playwear (light surface marks) as expected from a vintage scratchplate, but is unbroken with a great very clear logo.

Obviously this is made for the 'narrow-tall' EB humbucker: that is the pickup cutout measures 53mm. It will fit any EB2 with this pickup (1967-72) but would certainly have come from a late 60s-built bass.

Very rare part, in lovely condition - see pics.
